    Essential Duties



    • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.


    • Prepares facilities including building, grounds, etc. for various events.


    • Assists Facilities staff in any and all functions described under Facilities Maintenance as time and need require.


    • Opens and secures facilities before and after events.


    • May acts as a consultant to tenants providing expertise regarding facility capabilities.


    • Operates some heavy equipment as needed: i.e. forklift.


    • Maintains inventory records and coordinates disbursements of supplies.


    • May perform preventive maintenance as well as repair of machinery, plumbing, physical structure and electrical wiring and fixtures of County buildings and facilities in accordance with blueprints, manuals and building codes, using hand tools and carpenter, electrician and plumber tools.


    • Inspects machinery and mechanical equipment for defects when necessary.


    • Notifies management concerning need for repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilat­ing equipment.


    • Prepare Event Center facilities for various events; supervise or perform clean-up after events also.


    • Act as a consultant to tenants providing expertise regarding facility technical capabilities for their particular presentation.


    • Assist in the set-up, tear-down and repair of stage, tables, chairs, seats, portable risers, telescop­ing risers, and related equipment.


    • Maintain grounds in peak condition year-round.

    • May perform custodial functions as needed.


    • Irregular hours, evenings or weekends, 24-hour on-call availability, telephone for 24-hour use and overtime are required.


    • The duties of the Event Center Operations Technician are not limited to those set forth above. The employee will perform such functions, duties or assignments as given by a supervisor, consistent with ability, back­ground and expertise.




    • High school diploma or GED required.




    • Experience with facilities and events preferred.



    Certifications, Skills and Licenses:


    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.


    • Valid New Mexico driver's license


    • Computer literacy in order to maintain activity logs, order supplies on-line, and perform other operations
